Calendar and iCal Feed

Policy Stack includes a built-in calendar that consolidates follow-ups, meetings, client milestones, and deadline reminders into a single view. You can also subscribe to an iCal feed URL to see these events in your preferred external calendar.

Built-In Calendar

Views

The calendar supports three display modes:

Switch between views using the toggle in the calendar header. The calendar remembers your last-used view.

Event Types and Colors

Events are color-coded by type for quick scanning:

Clicking any event opens a detail popover with the client name, event context, and a link to the client's detail page.

Navigation

Use the arrow buttons to move forward and backward in time. Click Today to jump back to the current date. In month view, clicking a date switches to the day view for that date.

iCal Feed

Setting Up the Feed

1. Navigate to Settings > Calendar
2. Copy the iCal feed URL shown on the page
3. Add the URL as a subscription calendar in your preferred app

Google Calendar

1. Open Google Calendar settings
2. Go to Other calendars > From URL
3. Paste the iCal feed URL and click Add calendar

Apple Calendar

1. Open Calendar, then File > New Calendar Subscription
2. Paste the iCal feed URL and click Subscribe
3. Set your preferred refresh interval

Outlook

1. Open Outlook Calendar
2. Click Add calendar > From internet
3. Paste the iCal feed URL and click OK

Event Timing and Per-Type Toggles

In Settings > Calendar, you can control which event types are included in the built-in Schedule, Upcoming card, and iCal feed.

• Birthdays, policy anniversaries, follow-ups, meetings, and paid-up milestones stay on their recorded date. They do not use an advance-reminder setting.
• Deal close, term expiration, conversion window, and client goal reminders use a days-before setting. Policy Stack creates one advance event whose title states the remaining time and keeps a second event on the actual deadline.
• No-touch alerts use a days-without-a-touchpoint threshold rather than a deadline lead time.

For example, a conversion deadline of September 1 with a 60-day setting creates a July 3 entry titled Client Name - Policy Conversion window closes in 60 days when external-feed masking is on, plus a September 1 deadline entry. If the 60-day reminder date has already passed, Policy Stack creates a catch-up reminder today and states the actual days remaining. Anniversary titles use Client Name - Policy Anniversary and never include the carrier or policy number.

Changes to toggles take effect on the next feed refresh (external calendars typically refresh every few hours).

Calendar Privacy

Your external calendar provider receives the client names, policy details, and other event information included in the feed. Depending on your device and calendar settings, that information may appear in notifications or on a lock screen. Keep the subscription URL private and review notification previews on shared devices.

Turn on Mask policy numbers and amounts in Settings > Calendar if you want external event titles to replace policy labels with Policy and hide dollar amounts. This affects the subscribed feed only; Policy Stack's built-in Schedule retains the full record details.

Token Security

The iCal feed URL contains a unique token tied to your account. If you suspect the URL has been shared or compromised, use the Rotate Token button in Settings > Calendar to generate a new URL. The old URL will stop working immediately — update the subscription in your external calendar with the new URL.
